Totally Unepxected?

Just when you think you could hide in your Comfort Zone, things change Dramatically.

You could just be moved to a new workplace one hour drive more than the old one.
You could just be required to work 3 days instead of the normal 5 days.
You could just be taking one "Compulsory" "Voluntary" (Confusing?) Leave Day a week.

Nothing as the way it was.

Even the Markets.
Just when you think everything may have settled, Markets change Dramatically.
Look at the HSI.
Look at the HK property prices.
Look at the A$.
Look at the Oil Price.
And of course the Gold Price.

Totally Unexpected?

Should it be?
The Circle has only resumed again - what goes up will comes down and vice verse.
And now they are only on the way up again - and up very quickly.
The Crocodiles are making sure you're Tempted then Trapped.

Why Rushing to buy when everyone does AND only to pay for a Premium?
Why did you NOT buy when the HSI was at around 10,000 point?
Why did you NOT buy A$ when it was Below HK$5?
Why did you NOT sell HSBC when it was HK$45, then bought it back at around HK$30?

Have you NOT seen enough for the last 22 months?
Have you NOT learnt ONE thing from the last 22 months?

Cash is still King.
Patience is still the Name of the Game.

I'm waiting.
Still waiting after 22 months.
With Money Ready.
With Realistic Buying Targets.
AND Realistic Selling Targets.
AND above all, with Really Effective Strategies - 1/2, 1/3, 15/20.....

The Only two things that are Totally Unexpected to you could be,

I was thinking about moving this Blog to a new address (under Yahoo)

And I've started a New Blog,
http://www.myboysmyboss.blogspot.com/
(which may also be moved to a New Address)

Learning from the Past, Working for the Future

P.S. Carol, thanks for your feedback on 25 May.
I know it's a Very Frustrating and Yet Temping situation you're now in.
But, I think what should have happened is soon to happen.
The only question is, "Have you got the Time & Patience to Wait?"
If not, use the "1/2, 1/3" Strategy to MINIMISE your Risk.

Unexpected II

Tuesday, the 300 mm rain had made the Queensland's 6-year-old Draught gone.
Wednesday, the another 390 mm rain had made the Queensland State Declaring "Diaster Zone"
2-day rain has contributed 1-year water supply for the whole Queensland.

This is Totally Unexpected.
Not only it happened but also happened in an Unprecedented Speed.

Sound Familiar?
What about all these Unexpected Events happening during the last 21 months?

Did I not tell you in this Blog before,
It is NO Longer about Firms but Countries?

At long last, UK has been warned by Credit Agency it could lose its "AAA" rating.
This could be the 1st time UK losing its "AAA" since 1978 when UK was 1st assessed.

Yes, USA is soon to be on the same path - being Downgraded.

Have you not noticed the US Congress just passed a BILL?
Which restricting how much interest a Credit Card firm could charge on the outstanding debt.

Have you not noticed the US is NOT only suffering from a Deteriorating Residential Property Market, but also ALL these, Credit Loan, Car Loan, Personal Loan, Student Loan etc. Market.... and now finally comes the Commercial Property Market?

Have you not noticed the New House Construction started in April is the Lowest(yes, beat the Record (again) made only a month ago!) since record began in the 1960s?

Are you expecting the Wall St continues to rise for No Reason?
When more & more people are Losing their jobs?
When more & more public money being thrown into the Losing firms?
When more $ more "000"s (Now approaching US$2 Trillions) added to the Deficit?

What are you expect to happen, when there is a Sudden and Complete Collapse in Faith on US?

Are you Ready?

Unexpected

There have been a few Unexpected Events happening.

First, We're excited by our "Travel Around the World' Plan back in April.

But now with the Sudden Outbreak of Swine Flu,
It's increasingly likely we're to spend the time to travel around Australia instead.
By Driving!

Second, we're selling our house to cash in, preparing for the CRASH in share market.

Our agent had agreed to us doing our Private Sale while he's marketing the property for us.

Third, we're now considering buying a unit in Hong Kong.

We sold our HK unit back in 1997.
Then, sold another one in 2001.
But now with the Mortgage Rate so Low (2.2%),
And our HK hotel bill is so High,
We may buy one for holiday if the Price drops to an Irresistable Level.

As much as one has planned ahead,
As many factors has been taken into consideration,
There is Always the "Unexpected"

So, how you been prepared for the "Nasty Unexpected" when Investing?

Are you expecting some Major US Banks to be Downgraded?
Are you expecting the US to be Downgraded - NO MORE "AAA"?

Are you expecting the Wall St to fall by at least another 50%?

I could be Very Wrong.
But I'm getting my Money Ready.

Learning

There have been some Great Learning Opportunities lately.
About the "Great Art of Contradicting Oneself Without Feeling Embarrassed"

Learning from US Treasury Secretary,
"Our financial system remains strong as all 19 major banks passed the "Stress Test"
Even though 10 out of the 19 major banks need to raise Billions of capital.

Learning from the European Bank Governor,
"We are now at the Turning Point, the Worst has pasted."
Even though the Bank has just slashed its rate to 1% - the lowest on record.

Learning from the Australian Federal Treasurer,
"Our Economy is in Great Shape."
Even though he just announced the Biggest Budget Deficit in Australian History.

In this "Made to Believe" world, you really do NOT know Who you should Trust.

May be the World's Richest Man?

Below please find an E Mail I received from an Australian Friend.
Let's share his Wisdom.

"This should be posted in all schools and work places.

Love him or hate him, he sure hits the nail on the head with this! Bill Gates recently gave a speech at a High School about 11 things they did not and will not learn in school. He talks about how.

Feel-good, politically correct teachings created a generation of kids with no concept of reality and how this concept set's them up for failure in the real world.

Rule 1: Life is not fair - get used to it!

Rule 2: The world won't care about your self-esteem.
The world will expect you to accomplish something BEFORE you feel good about yourself.

Rule 3: You will NOT make $60,000 a year right out of high school.
You won't be a vice-president with a car phone until you earn both.

Rule 4: If you think your teacher is tough, wait till you get a boss.

Rule 5: Flipping burgers is not beneath your dignity.
Your Grandparents had a different word for burger flipping: they called it opportunity.

Rule 6: If you mess up, it's not your parents' fault, so don't whine about your mistakes, learn from them.

Rule 7: Before you were born, your parents weren't as boring as they are now.
They got that way from paying your bills, cleaning your clothes and listening to you talk about how cool you thought you were. So before you save the rain forest from the parasites of your parent's generation, try delousing the closet in your own room.

Rule 8: Your school may have done away with winners and losers, but life HAS NOT.
In some schools, they have abolished failing grades and they'll give you as MANY TIMES as you want to get the right answer. This doesn't bear the slightest resemblance to ANYTHING in real life.

Rule 9: Life is not divided into semesters.
You don't get summers off and very few employers are interested in helping you FIND YOURSELF. Do that on your own time.

Rule 10: Television is NOT real life.
In real life people actually have to leave the coffee shop and go to jobs.

Rule 11: Be nice to nerds. Chances are you'll end up working for one.

If you agree, pass it on.
If you can read this - Thank a teacher!"

Logic

Many things in Life do not have Logic.

Where is the Logic for Love?

A Loves B Madly & yet B Loves C Deeply when C doesn't Love B Any!
A Loves B for 30 years & yet A leaves for C who is known for 30 days only!

Where is the Logic for Parenting?

Working Wholeheartedly, Working Repeatedly
No Paid, No Leave, No Resignation
No Turning Back!

Where is the Logic for the current markets?

Wall St rose, even though some Big Banks have to raise Big Capital.
A Share, H Share still rose, even though Influenza AH1N1 confirmed in HK.
Unemployment dropped in Australia, even though Australia just been confirmed in Recession.

There is NO Logic in Markets.
Because there is NO Logic in Emotions.

Although we know a lot about the Biggest Thing (Universe) and the Smallest Thing in Life (Neutron?),we never really know why we are Happy this minute and then Unhappy the following minute.

Never be Temped to Jump into the markets NOW.
The Positive Sentiment is Artificial - is set to get you in.

Stay Out.
Stay Calm.
Stay as a Winner.

Imagine

Can't stop thinking about the Beatles.
Or even someone coming out from the Beatles.

John Lennan - his all time Greatest,

"Imagine".

18 months ago, could anyone Imagine the "Greatest Depression" was coming?
18 days ago, could anyone Imagine the "Greatest Health Threat" was coming?

Subprime Crisis.
Swine Flu.
Still not Surprised?

What about a Sudden Strike?
There are rumours suggesting Israel may have to do a "Pre-emptive Strike" on Iran.
Because there are reports suggesting Iran could have a Nuclear Bomb within 2-3 years.

Did you remember all these "Experts' telling us not to worry?
They assure us this time is Different from the 1930's.

Yes, at least these Faked Experts get One Thing Right this time.
This time is Different.

This time is WORSE.

Because when the 1929/30 Depression started, there was NO Hedge Fund, NO Swine Flu, No Potential Nuclear War.......

Could you Imagine how all these end?

Imaginations bring Solutions
P.S. Carol, thanks for your feedback at 27 April. Relocating to HK is always an Option, but we're to stay in Australia for the time being.
We intend to rent a unit at Metro Harbourview in HK so that we do NOT have to stay in hotel during our HK holiday/business trip.
